The Linear Imprecision Indices on the Lower Probabilities
نویسنده
چکیده
An axiomatic way is given for constructing imprecision indices of lower probabilities. The algebraic structure of linear imprecision indices is described. Necessary and sufficient conditions are found when a linear functional produces a linear imprecision index. The important class of linear symmetric imprecision indices is introduced, and the investigation of its algebraic properties is carried out.

Various Representations and Algebraic Structure of Linear Imprecision Indices
The paper is devoted to the investigation of imprecision indices, introduced in [7]. They are used for evaluation of uncertainty (or more exactly imprecision), which is contained in information given by fuzzy (nonadditive) measures, in particular, by lower or upper probabilities. We argue that there exist various types of uncertainty, for example, randomness, investigated in probability theory,...

متن کاملA Self-organized Multi Agent Decision Making System Based on Fuzzy Probabilities: The Case of Aphasia Diagnosis
Aphasia diagnosis is a challenging medical diagnostic task due to the linguistic uncertainty and vagueness, large number of measurements with imprecision, inconsistencies in the definition of Aphasic syndromes, natural diversity and subjectivity in test objects as well as in options of experts who diagnose the disease. In this paper we present a new self-organized multi agent system that diagno...
متن کاملAn imprecision importance measure for uncertainty representations interpreted as lower and upper probabilities, with special emphasis on possibility theory
Uncertainty importance measures typically reflect the degree to which uncertainty about risk and reliability parameters at the component level influences uncertainty about parameters at the system level. The definition of these measures is typically founded on a Bayesian perspective where subjective probabilities are used to express epistemic uncertainty; hence, they do not reflect the effect o...
متن کاملPropagating Imprecise Probabilities in Bayesian Networks
Often experts are incapable of providingèxact' probabilities; likewise, samples on which the probabilities in networks are based must often be small and preliminary. In such cases the probabilities in the networks are imprecise. The imprecision can be handled by second-order probability distributions. It is convenient to use beta or Dirichlet distributions to express the uncertainty about proba...
